KCM considers the following to be DOMINANT (abv.: Dom):
5th scale degree: Major Dominant
7th scale degree: Minor Dominant
..and thus share in the following properties:
-Repeated applications of the dominant note/chord/key will tend to want to move away from that note/chord/key… this absolute for both
-The dominants have the tritone closests to the bass note and are thus the most “tense”
-The dominants have a “push” effect in that if established in gestalt memory, there will be a constant “push” to want to “resolve AWAY” from itself and TO it’s Tonic first (major to major, minor to minor) and the other tonic second.
