Studies on the Modal Triangle

In  this video, simple pass through the modal triangle (also known as the modal pyramid) are realized using ChordBot software and a signing seventh chords to each mode.

There are two sections to this piece, the retrogression and the progression.in the retrogression, we start on F Lydian and then progressed clockwise on the outside moving on to see Ionian next, G Melodic Minor next, D neapolitan major, etc we continue this sequence until we reach the end at which time we stay on B-flat of Lydian augmented (the third motive melodic minor) for a few beats before repeating the whole process.  The complete sequence from start to finish (labeled as  S and F is repeated three times with the first pass throughhaving few or no inversions, while the second and third one progressively use of more inversions while remaining on the same court.

In the progression, a similar pattern is followed with a different start and finish point as well as a different style of music.  We have chosen a more jazz or contemporary approach for the progressions given that those styles are more mainstream and use movements and force.  On the other hand, we have chosen a more electronic or dance music genre for the retrogression’s sense retrogression’s are not conventional within music
