2) It is the only interval that is larger than than the set of notes, 7 since heptatonic… as such impossible to fit it in our structure.
3) Building on the above, m2 would represent one of the generators of Z12 and thus have order 12 and thus generates the whole group; this is known the improper group, the subgroup that is the full group.
